Information Vieux Lyon
Go back to the days when Lyon was a fair city where merchants from all over Europe came to do business. Its 15th- and 16th-century buildings were home to wealthy Italian, but also German and Flemish, bankers and merchants' families.
Secret and mysterious, Vieux-Lyon can be discovered behind the doors, where traboules (hidden passageways allowing you to join two streets by going through the interior of a building) and inner courtyards reveal all the wealth of their former owners.
And if the facades of the buildings appear simple, it is to better reveal their decorations to the visitor who will dare to push the doors!
